Render Elements / Pencil+ 4 Material¶
Render Elements functionality is used to output specific rendered items to their own files. By combining material components output by Pencil+ 4 Material with Material IDs, you can output only the required Material data to file.
Parameters¶
Define the Render Elements output settings.
Presets¶
Define Presets.
Presets¶
Load previously saved parameter settings. The values in the Parameters section are saved.
Presets are saved to the following file:
Windows 7 and up
C:\Users\Public\Documents\PSOFT\Pencil+ 4 for 3ds Max\Presets\pencil+4_preset_mtlelem.txt
Add¶
Save the current settings to Presets. Click [Add] after typing the presets name in the text entry field.
Delete¶
Delete the current Presets. Click [Delete] after selecting the Presets you wish to delete in the drop-down list.
Output Selection¶
Select which Materials will be output. You can use a [Material ID] or an [Object ID] to define the output targets.
Material ID¶
Output Pencil+ 4 Materials for which the [Material ID Channel] number matches the specified Material ID. Use this to define the output on a Material ID basis.
The [Material ID Channel] can be set to a value between 0 and 15 with the Material Editor.

Preserve the shapes of the zones¶
Specify how Zones that have their Zone IDs checked off should be rendered. When [Preserve the shapes of the zones] is enabled, the shapes of the zones are preserved in the rendered image. When it is disabled, the color from the enabled Zone IDs is drawn over the disabled zones.
Use this when you wish to overlay individually output Zones using compositing software. Use the appropriate setting to produce the desired separation of the output elements.
